Most responses are selected, so an initial picture emerges quickly and consistently. The output forms the basis of consultation and a longer-term plan, rather than a standalone judgement.
Designed for maintained schools and academies in England serving some or all of EYFS to Year 6 and working within the EYFS statutory framework and the National Curriculum for England. Independent and international schools should use the separate Independent and International Schools audit.

Some questions carry a short prompt: How do you know? What do you see that tells you this? Where it appears, note briefly what evidence sits behind the response. It is there to surface whether a judgement rests on monitoring, or on impression.
